A tremendous author who represented some of the best writing and insight of both the Minnesotan and Scandanavian experience. He will be missed.

I will always be grateful to Bill for his loving appreciation of Carol Bly and her novel "Shelter Half." He wrote an insight cover comment for the book and came to Duluth to participate in our publication celebration last fall. A man of large appetites and even larger talent, human spirit, and heart. He will be missed greatly.
